Roaring Fork Women’s Tri Team at the Strawberry Shortcut
More than 40 members of the Roaring Fork Women’s Triathlon Team showed up for the Strawberry Shortcut 10K and 5K race on June 23. The members range in age from 17-73 and live between Rifle to Basalt. The team is in training to swim, bike and run to complete a sprint distance triathlon in August. Podium finishers included Heidi Halladay, Jacque McMillan, Paula Matheson, Carol McCurry, Sharma Phillips, Coach Nancy Reinisch, Jeanne Sheriff and Karin White.
Woody and Wendy Harrison, Mike and Penny Kenealy and Mac Smith are delighted to announce the engagement and upcoming August wedding of their children, Kira Harrison and Clayton Smith. Kira graduated from Fort Lewis College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Marketing in 2005, and Clayton graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Economics in 2007. Both born and raised here in the valley, the couple met 4 years ago through a mutual friend after relocating back the valley.

The Longevity Project is an annual campaign to help educate readers about what it takes to live a long, fulfilling life in our valley. This year Kevin shares his story of hope and celebration of life with his presentation Cracked, Not Broken as we explore the critical and relevant topic of mental health.
Michael Joseph Mullek Jr. was born at 2:22 p.m. on June 6, 2013, to Michael and Kimberly Mullek. He weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces, and was 201/2 inches long at birth.
Grandparents are James M. and Carolyn Stanberry of Carbondale, and Joe and Betty Mullek of Robertsdale, Ala.
