On May 12, Kiwanis cooked for more than 300 people to celebrate Sopris Elementary School’s completion of another successful year. McGhee-Hanson wedding

Curt Hanson of Rifle married his love Maureen McGhee of Glenwood Springs on Feb. 24, 2017, at The Hotel Colorado. It was a glorious day surrounded by family and friends, including Maureen’s daughter Rebeckah Eggleston, who was home on leave from The United States Air Force for the event.

Hoffmeister graduates from basic military training

U.S. Air Force Airman Anthony J. Hoffmeister graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in San Antonio.

The airman completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training also earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Hoffmeister earned distinction as an honor graduate.

He is the son of Joy and Eric Hoffmeister of Parachute, and grandson of Carleton Hoffmeister of Rifle.

The airman is a 2014 graduate of home-schooling in Grand Junction.
