Kyra Hills, of Rifle, with Elks district hoop shoot chairman Mark Gorman, won first place in the Elks mountain district hoop shoot, which was held at Rifle Middle School on Jan. 12. Rifle Lodge #2195 hosted the event where 40 participants and their families from lodges as far away as Craig and Salida competed at the shoot. After a complimentary spaghetti lunch, trophies for first and second place were awarded. The first place winners were: age group 8-9 — Kyra Hills, Rifle, and Easton Harlow, Glenwood; age group 10-11 — Beckham McKendrick, Glenwood, and Braeden Johnson, Salida; and age group 12-13 — Hudson Jones, Craig, and Breauna Soresen, Glenwood.
