Elks host disabled veterans
Glenwood Springs Elks Lodge 2286 hosted 198 disabled veterans and DAV staff for lunch during four days of the April 2019 Winter Sports Clinic. Thanks go out to the 106 volunteers from the public and the lodge that participated in preparing and serving lunches of wild game meat and side dishes to the vets. All those that participated said that interacting with these brave veterans was one of the most rewarding activities the lodge undertakes each year. In recognition of his 30 years of being the lead chef for the annual event Phil Long was recognized as Elk of the Month by ER Kathleen Kline.
