Elks honor Ann Maggard

On Sept. 18 Ann Maggard was honored by the Glenwood Springs BPOE Elks Lodge 2286 as ”Elk of the Month.”

Exalted Ruler Kathleen Kline presented the award and also acknowledged Maggard’s receipt of an award by the State Elks organization for her authorship of the Lodge Bugler publication.

Kline said, “Ann Maggard is much more than the Lodge Secretary. She does so many things that are over and above the call of duty.”

Ann is a Marine veteran and an active member of the Elks Membership, Veterans and Lapsation committees.

She proudly represents her father, Al Maggard, in all Colorado State Association events where he served as its president.

Ann is active in community activities including serving on the board of the Glenwood Springs Historical Society, where she is a past president.
