Eagles dinner a success

Once again the Fraternal Order of Eagles was able to provide a traditional Thanksgiving meal to members of the Glenwood Springs community numbering 478 on Thanksgiving day.

As event chairperson I would like to extend my gratitude to all of the members and community volunteers who made this possible.

To my prep squad Terri, Craig, Monika, Michael, Alissa, Monte, Jerri and Russell, you folks rocked. Helping with the preparation of 40 turkeys, 45 pounds of stuffing, 170 pounds of potatoes and 25 gallons of cranberry sauce.

To the folks who are our front line members on the actual day, Connie, Dawndrea, Troy, TylerJerri, Russell and Monte.

And as with all successful events there are those who choose to provide whatever is needed, Brian Hergert, Mr. & Mrs. Steve Smith, Robert Herrill, the people from LIFT-UP and Doc’s and Springs.

I would also like to thank all the various volunteers that came out to help whether it was for an hour doing dishes, packaging to-go meals or delivering those meals. They are to be commended for giving unselfishly of their time.

And last but not least my wonderful husband Monte Hayes for his continued support.
