Mr. T’s fishing Derby a success
The New Castle Cub Scouts, Pack 221, would like to say thank you to our volunteers and congratulations to our winners of the Mr. T’s Fishing Derby. A special thank-you to Brian Gray and Shiloh McCullom with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the Castle Valley Home Owners Association and Pepsi for the food and beverages, Brian Dominguez and Justin Reynolds with the New Castle Police Department, Walker Bait of Grand Junction, Joni Harcourt, Grace Tritschler, John Acha, Terry Granger, Sammy and Ceci Diaz, Dustin Harcourt, Dustin Thompson, Peter Golden and others for making the event happen. We had 86 kids competing this year. In the 8 and younger division: 1st fish caught was by Josiah Diaz, Donaven Grant got the largest, and the most fish caught was by Maddie Fletcher. In the 9 and older division: 1st fish caught was by Mason Acha, Kragen Wild caught the largest fish of the day, and Caleb Thompson was our top angler with the most fish caught.
