RFV angels, thank you
There are angels living in the Roaring Fork Valley. In fighting an autoimmune disease, I have found that it takes a village of support. I want to publicly thank Tanae Douglas, Bobbie Pfalzgraff, Tanya Portlock and Torri Webster for putting together the Masquerade Ball benefit on October 25th, to raise funds to help me offset the cost of fighting Scleroderma, and to explore future treatment. Words cannot adequately express my gratefulness for the support of these “Scleroderma Fairies.” Thank you, also, to the amazing Missing Link Band for performing at the benefit, and to the owners of the Farm Fresh Café in Rifle for providing such a wonderful and cool venue.
I cannot forget to thank my husband’s coworkers, the dietary staff at Valley View Hospital, for using their own kitchens this summer to make handmade tamales, the proceeds of which went to me and my family to help support us due to my inability to work. The generosity of those wonderful people takes my breath away. We are so lucky for the Valley View family.
There are many other people who have helped me in this journey — making dinners, providing rides, giving massages, and just stopping by to talk. Thank you all so very, very much.

Scouting For Food in New Castle
Thanks to our generous community of New Castle, all of our Cub Scouts (Pack 221), and Boy Scouts (Troup 221), parents, friends and siblings for contributing their time and donations to our Scouting For Food Drive in New Castle. With everyone’s help we collected approximately 5,000 pounds of food for Lift-up in a little over 24 hours. We live in a fabulous community. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
