Anthony Michael Mikus

Anthony Michael Mikus, 48, passed away April 4, 2008, at his home in Carbondale, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Anthony was born Oct. 16, 1959, in Aurora, Ill., to William and Gertrude (Molitor) Mikus.

He moved to Colorado from Illinois 25 years ago. He found his love of the Rocky Mountains hiking in them and flying over them. He was a private pilot, one that thoroughly enjoyed the freedom of flight.

He was an incredible man, loving husband and son.

He is survived by his wife, Julie Mikus; Angel the Labradoodle; parents; brother

Timothy (Laurie) Mikus; sister Michelle (Brad) Phelps, and Lisa (Joseph) Tapp;

nieces Robbin and Megan Mikus and Abigail Tapp; and nephews Jacob and

Benjamin Tapp.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 26 at the Aspen Chapel in
