BRECKENRIDGE ” Law enforcement authorities have issued an arrest warrant for Royal “Scoop” Daniel III, the Breckenridge attorney who’s been missing since April 27.

Officials announced at a press conference today that the evidence collected points to Daniel leaving the country after stealing money from some of the clients of his law practice.

Witnesses quoted in the arrest warrant say that Daniel allegedly took as much as $500,000 from his clients, but officials said that number could escalate as the investigation continues.

About 50 to 75 Breckenridge area residents attended the press conference, as well as every major Front Range television station.

Since Daniel’s mysterious disappearance, law enforcement has obtained and executed 17 separate search warrants, both in Breckenridge and out of state.
