From 6-8 tonight, the Carbondale Council for the Arts and Humanities, 645 Main St. and the Gordon Cooper Library, 76 S. 4th St., both in Carbondale are hosting a reception for the 28th annual Valley Visual Arts Show.

The Carbondale Clay Center, 135 Main St., is hosting the opening of its national, juried show Tablets: Text and Images in Clay tonight, from 6-8 p.m.

Majid Kahhak will paint a local early spring landscape live beginning at 6 p.m. tonight (First Friday), at Kahhak Fine Arts & School, 411 Main St. in Carbondale. Wine and snacks will be served.

The opening wine and cheese reception for Fender Benders, will be held from 5-8 tonight at Roadside Gallery, 320 Main St. in Carbondale.

A reception for Andrea Korbers monotypes will be held from 6-9 tonight at Studio for Arts and Works, 978 Euclid Ave. in Carbondale.

In celebration of Valley Kids, the areas long-running, all-kid exhibit, the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts, 601 E. 6th St., is hosting a free reception and art party for all children, ages 4 and up from 1-4 p.m. on Saturday.

The Glenwood Springs Art Guild will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1630 Grand Ave. in Glenwood Springs
