Art Guild awards three students for their work

Staff Report

The Glenwood Springs Art Guild is proud to announce the winners of the “Grants and Awards” competition.

Graduating seniors from the area were eligible to compete for these awards by submitting their applications and art portfolios for consideration. Their artwork was displayed at the All Students Art Show at Glenwood Springs High School, and a few of the winning pieces will be displayed again this September at the annual Fall Art Festival.

The winners are:

Ashley Fowler, daughter of Jim and Wendy Fowler, and a graduate of Glenwood Springs High School, is the first place winner. She will receive the Nancy Piper Memorial Art Education Grant for $2,000.

Crystal Wanner, daughter of Ralph and Pat Wanner, and a graduate of Carbondale High School, is the second place winner. She will receive the Jan Worden Continuing Education Grant for $1,000.

Kate Thayne, daughter of Jim and Patty Thayne, and a graduate of Roaring Fork High School, is the third place winner. She will receive the Jan Worden Continuing Education Grant for $750.

Jaime Moore, daughter of David and Marcia Moore and a graduate of Glenwood Springs High School, is the honorable mention winner.

The Glenwood Springs Art Guild would like to thank each of the students who entered art work for this competition.
