Arthur Joseph Scribner, of Rifle, passed away May 25, 2008, in Denver.

Arthur was born Sept. 11, 1933, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

Arthur proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1952 through 1956, during the Korean War.

A true believer in constantly learning, Arthur was a graduate of State University of New York, Farmingdale, and St. John’s University in New York.

He continued serving his fellow New Yorkers as a member of the NYC Police Department from 1960 through 1980. Those who knew Arthur knew that there was always a story to tell.

With a kind and generous heart, he loved to be with people. Friends, family and honored service were the cornerstones of his exceptional life.

Arthur is survived by son Paul; granddaughter Katrina; daughter-in-law Kim; sister Agnes Granges; nieces Elaine Duerr and Patty Ann Myers; nephew Steve Grange; and many other family members.

With love in his heart, he always had time to share his feelings and listen to others.

The memories we have of Arthur will survive forever as he continues his eternal journey.
