Aspen uses wind power
Dear Editor,
As you may know, the Aspen Mountain Gondola and the ESPN Winter X-Games are being powered with wind energy this winter, keeping an estimated one million pounds of pollution out of the air. While Aspen Skiing Company did triple its purchases of renewable energy this year, wind power for the gondola was entirely funded by community groups interested in promoting the use of renewable energy and keeping Aspen’s air clean. We are grateful for the generous support from the Community Office for Resource Efficiency, Holy Cross Energy, the City of Aspen, and ESPN.
Sincerely,
Pat O’Donnell
Aspen
