August G. “Augie” Reno Sr., 74, passed away Jan. 28, 2006, at Longmont Life Care Center in Longmont.He was born Jan. 17, 1932, in Chicago, to August Joseph Reno and Mamie Veronica Vinci.He married to Marion Joan Rizzo Aug. 5, 1951, in Jeffersonville, Ind.Augie had been a resident of Colorado since 1981, moving from Eagle County to Longmont in 2001.He was the former owner of the Reno Auto Body and Restoration of Basalt.Augie was a member of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Longmont, and was a member of the Lions Club in Basalt.His hobbies were collecting miniature cars and peddle cars.Survivors include his wife; daughter Phyllis (Grady) Enge, of Longmont; son: August G. (Kim) Reno Jr., of Aspen; brothers Norman (Flo) Reno, of Evergreen Park, Ill., and Robert (Carole) Reno, of Crete, Ill.; sisters-in-law Mary Lou Reno, of Tuscon, Ariz. and Angela Rizzo, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; grandchildren Lucas, Geneva, and Emily Enge, of California, and Nicole and Cory Reno, of Aspen.He was proceeded in death by brother Donald Reno and brother-in-law, Larry Rizzo. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. at Christ Our Saviour Lutheran Church, 640 Alpine St. in Longmont, with the Rev. John Thieme officiating. Services will conclude with a reception at the family residence from 12:30-3:30 p.m. The location will be announced at the service. An additional memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Aspen. A potluck reception will follow.M.P. Murphy & Associates is in charge of arrangements.
