Authorities looking into death of woman from Battlement Mesa

Staff report

Garfield County Coroner Trey Holt has not determined the cause of death for Robyn Elizabeth Sturtevant, 21, of Battlement Mesa.

He is awaiting toxicology results before issuing a final report.

Sturtevant was found dead in her apartment at 1230 W. Battlement Parkway on Friday, Oct. 31, said Holt.

Holt said Sturtevant had a history of seizures. An autopsy was performed in Glenwood Springs on Sunday. “But the autopsy didn’t show us anything,” he said.

The toxicology report is expected from a lab in Colorado Springs later this week.

Holt said the Garfield County Sheriff’s Department called his office at 12:15 p.m. on Friday after Sturtevant’s body was found.

Garfield County Sheriff Lou Vallario was not available for comment.

Sturtevant’s friends reported she had lived in the Battlement Mesa area for several years, Holt said.
