Baha’i thanks for publishing Frontier Diary

Baha'i Council of Pitkin, Eagle and Garfield counties

Dear Editor,

We would like to thank you for publishing the article about Abdu’l-Baha and his visit to Glenwood Springs in the June 14-15 issue of the Glenwood Springs Post Independent. This well written article by Willa Soncarty of the Frontier Historical Museum was factual, informative and timely.

Abdu’l-Baha’s father, Baha’u’llah, who fulfills the prophesies for the second coming of Christ, wrote the following concerning newspapers and journalism:

“The pages of swiftly-appearing newspapers are indeed the mirror of the world. They reflect the deeds and the pursuits of divers peoples and kindreds. They both reflect them and make them known. They are a mirror endowed with hearing, sight and speech. This is an amazing and potent phenomenon. However, it behooveth the writers thereof to be purged from the promptings of evil passions and desires and to be attired with the raiment of justice and equity. They should enquire into situations as much as possible and ascertain the facts, then set them down in writing.”

The article about Abdu’l-Baha is of special interest to the local Baha’i community as the great-grandson of Abdu’l-Baha currently resides in the Roaring Fork Valley.

We commend you on a job well done. For more information about the Baha’i faith, please call the Baha’i Center at 945-2220.

Warm Baha’i regards,

Baha’i Council of Pitkin, Eagle and Garfield counties
