Barbara May Stouder, 95, of Rifle passed away Jan. 19, 2011.Barbara was born May 6, 1915 in Juniper Springs, CO to Roy Pete and Olive Bell (Conn) Cook. She was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rifle, and an Eastern Star member. Barbara enjoyed volunteering and participating at the Senior Center in Rifle, Colorado for many years. (Thank you, Marie.) She lived in Rifle for 57 years with wonderful neighbors always near. She spent the last nine months of her life residing at the E. Dene Moore Care Center in Rifle, in a caring and loving atmosphere. Barbara was thoughtfully known by her grandchildren and others as “Granny”.Barbara leaves behind her daughter Beverly June (Elmer) Blackmore of Rifle; brother Jerry (Dorothy) Cook of Rifle; niece Jodi White of Grand Junction; grandchildren Lynn Simpson, Roxann (Sam) Dickson, Robert (Marie) Reigon Jr., Debra Carter and Diane (Larry) Wallace; 9 great-grandchildren; and one great great-grandchild.She was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Stouder; daughter Betty Reigan; sister Grace Hamilton and brother Kenneth Cook.Funeral Services are planned for Tuesday, Jan. 25 at 10 a.m. at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Rifle. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Emmanuel Lutheran Helping Hands & Preschool, 652 East 5th Street, Rifle, CO 81650.
