Barbara Popish

Longtime valley resident Barbara Popish, 75, passed away March 10, 2008, surrounded by her family.

She was born Barbara Jean Hauth Sept. 14, 1932, in Independence, Mo., to Ted and Alma (Cage) Hauth. She moved with her family to the Roaring Fork Valley in 1947.

Barbara married Joseph W. Popish Oct. 4, 1952, and they lived in Aspen until they retired to Carbondale in 1986.

She will be missed by all who loved her.

Barbara is survived by her husband of 54 years; sons Edward of Rome, Italy, and Tony (Sally) of Carbondale; grandsons Kyle of Carbondale and Danny (Sarah) of Basalt; brother Eldon (Jean) Hauth of Beaumont, Texas; and a multitude of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Tom’s Door at St. Mary of the Crown.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 15, at St. Mary of the Crown Church in Carbondale.
