Battlement break-ins, Parachute arson latest Crime Stoppers cases

PARACHUTE – The Parachute Police Department and Crime Stoppers of Garfield County are searching for information about an arson-caused fire that burned a shed and three water trucks at Resort Trucking, 128 Cardinal Way, Parachute, causing $230,000 in damage. The fire occurred at about 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, July 23.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and Crime Stoppers of Garfield County are looking for information about vandalism and burglaries at the Battlement Mesa Storage facility, 650 Riverbluff Road, Parachute, on the night of Aug. 4. Vandals damaged more than 40 cars, campers and trailers and stole items valued at more than $1,000.

Garfield County Crime Stoppers is offering up to $1,000 for any information that will lead to the arrest or indictment of the suspect or suspects involved in either of these crimes.
