Bernard Gerald Ruel, 55, of Glenwood Springs, CO passed away Dec. 22, 2009 in Loveland, CO.

Bernard was born Jan. 29, 1954 in Hartford, Conn., to Don and Semida Ruel.

If you’ve been in Glenwood Springs for any length of time, you’ve probably run into one of the longtime friends of the community, Bernard Ruel. He worked construction throughout the area and made many friends through his participation in the community. He was one of those Salt-of- the- Earth kind of guys that did what he could more for others than himself. Sadly, he suffered a tragic accident on Tuesday evening, Dec. 22.

There will be a viewing at the Farnum Funeral Home, 405 W. 7th Street in Glenwood Springs, Saturday Dec. 26, 2009, from 10 a.m. – noon, followed by an informal gathering at the Eagles Club.

Bernard was a member and friend of the club and I’m sure he would want you to be there to celebrate his life more than his passing. His parents, Don and Semida Ruel, along with his brother Leo Ruel, and sisters Yvonne Divine, Jeanette Turvey, Elaine Robertson, Paulette Marine, and Donna Ruel along with all of Bernard’s extended family and friends who loved him and were very dear to him will all be there to share the love they have lost and the memories of a great son, brother and friend.

He will be missed.
