Bernard Primosh Popish

Bernard Primosh Popish, 87, passed away Oct. 13, 2008, at home in Carbondale.

Bernard was born April 4, 1921, in Aspen, to Primosh Popish and Mary D. (Zupancis) Popish. Bernard was a lifetime resident of the valley.

Bernard served in the U.S. Navy as a medic.



He worked as a mortician at Sardy Funeral Home, and also worked as a clerk at Aspen Lumber and Supply.

Bernard married Beverly Joyce Molden March 3, 1951, at St. Mary’s Church in Aspen.



Bernard’s hobbies were gardening and spending time with his family. His greatest joy in life was his family; he always enjoyed spending time with them.

Bernard is survived by his wife; sons Donald (Janice), Dave and John Popish; grandchildren Lisa and Garret Popish and Jessica and Amber Cook; step-granddaughter Jennifer; daughter Katherine S. Cook; brothers Joseph, Martin and Louis Popish; and sister Lillian Dalton.

A Catholic Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, at St. Mary of the Crown Church in Carbondale.
