Bernarda Suchowiejko

Bernarda Suchowiejko, of Glenwood Springs, Colo., died Sunday, June 9, 2002. She was 76.

Ms. Suchowiejko was born Aug. 20, 1925, in Kolno, Poland. During World War II she experienced both the German and Russian invasions and was a Holocaust survivor. She immigrated with her husband and three children to America in April 1962.

She worked at the Brown Palace Hotel in Denver until her retirement in 1987. She moved to Glenwood Springs in 1989. The Hot Springs Pool brought her many days of pleasure. She enjoyed crocheting and had a great skill for drawing and painting. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandchildren.



She is survived by children Joasia, Zbigniew and Alicia; grandchildren Jennie, Ashley and Matthew; step-grandchildren Scotlan, Clayton, Chris, Julie and Ali; and great-grandchildren Stephen and Stephanie.

A graveyard service will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, June 13, at Rosebud Cemetery in Glenwood Springs.
