Bertha H. George

Bertha H. George, passed away Oct. 26, 2008, in Winnemucca, Nevada.

She was born Dec. 5, 1918, in Rifle, to Harry H. and Carla H. Moore. She attended the Rifle schools and graduated from Rifle High School.

Bertha married Alfred W. George April 23, 1936. They had four sons, Marlin, Tony, Thomas and Richard. After their marriage, they lived and farmed in Antlers with his parents. They moved to Meeker in 1955, and ran the Meeker Feed Store. They sold out and moved to North Pole, Alaska in 1962. After their retirement, they moved to Kingman, Ariz., in 1976.



She is survived by sons Marlin (Sally), Tony, and Thomas H. (Ilene); daughter-in-law Velvet; 22 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and niece Carolin Sammons.

She was preceded in death by her husband; and son Richard Neal George.



Funeral services are planned for 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 3, at the Rifle Funeral Home.

Interment will follow immediately at Rose Hill Cemetery in Rifle.
