Betty L. Hinkey

Betty L. Hinkey, 83, of Ottawa, Ill., died March 15, 2008, at Morris Hospital in Ottawa.

Mrs. Hinkey was born Dec. 28, 1924, in Ottawa, to James and Altha (Locke) Reilley.

She married Leo Hinkey Jan. 25, 1947, at St. Patrick’s Church in Ottawa.



She was a member of St. Patrick Church, CDA and Ottawa Moose Lodge; a volunteer for the Red Cross, PVL gift shop and Community Hospital Pink Ladies.

Survivors include her husband; sons Bob (Mary) of Glenwood Springs, and Tom (Regina) of Spring Valley, Ill.; son-in-law John Wisniewski of Ottawa; grandchildren Jamie (Mike) Ranallo, Julie (Dave) Roach and Trevor, Leah, Jonathan and Sarah Hinkey; great-grandchildren Ashley, Amanda and Tyler; and one sister, Mary Kay Coulter of Peoria, Ill.



She was preceded in death by a daughter, Joanne Wisniewski, and a brother, Tom Reilley.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. March 19 at St. Patrick’s Church in Ottawa, with the Rev. Ignatius Lourduraj officiating. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at Ottawa Funeral Home, with a rosary at 4:30 p.m. and Catholic Daughters of the Americas in attendance.

Pallbearers will be Ken Blum, Trevor, Jonathan and Sarah Hinkey and Tom and David Bridges.

Memorials may be directed to St. Patrick’s or Marquette High School in Ottawa.
