Silt’s Sydney Surin enjoyed quite the barrel racing season.

In the recent National Barrel Horse Association’s District 10 finals, she took first in the open 2D average and first in the youth 1D average. The 12-year-old’s efforts netted her two buckles to take home.

For the NBHA year, Surin won the saddle for the youth 1D again and finished third in open 1D for the second year in a row.

She’ll receive her saddle and other awards in February.

Also in 2011, Surin was a first-time member of the Colorado Pro Rodeo Association.

In 2010, she was the Snowmass Pro Rodeo Barrel Racing Champion. Due to Surin’s CPRA commitment, she didn’t participate in Snowmass in 2011.
