Bill Bullard

On a beautiful Idaho ridge overlooking Hells Canyon and the snowcovered Wallowa peaks, Bill Bullard died of a heart attack. Bill appears to have died immediately. He may have just loaded a large piece of driftwood into the bed of the truck, he may have just hiked to the top of the ridge, but he chose a beautiful place for his last moments. The rest of us are still kicking around: Barb and Brae, Bill and Jean, Wendy and Ken, Janne and Jacques, Kent and Inez, and many nieces and nephews. As well as all of you, our extended family. Bill and Barb recently moved to Idaho after an amazing 30 years in the Roaring Fork Valley. His daughter Brae lives in Seattle. We are comforted with a picture in our hearts of Bill. He’s sitting on a log bench with Ben Reed and Sam Leavitt and so many others who have already left us.Can’t you see him laughing, catching them up on all the Carbondale tales. And, of course, Smoke sleeps at his feet. There are no words to thank each of you for touching Bill’s life and ours. Please join us at the shop on Buggy Circle, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 21, for a celebration of Bill with the Bush and Bullard families. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation in Bill’s name to the Washington County Sheriff’s Posse/Search & Rescue, 262 East Court, Weiser, ID 83672.
