Billy Glen Price
Billy Glen Price of Glenwood Springs, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, at his home. He was 69.Billy was born on July 12, 1938, to John Sylvester Price and Grace Pearl (Laxton) Price, in Reynolds, Mo. He married Vickie Black on April 20, 1984, in Glenwood Springs. Billy served in the U.S. Army and retired from the city of Glenwood Springs Parks and Cemetery Department. He was a member of several organizations, including the American Legion Post 83, Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodges, (FOE) Eagles, Elks Lodge (BPOE), Crime Stoppers of Garfield County, Citizens Advisory Board, VA Nursing Home (Rifle) and SHARE Colorado, and was American Legion District 13 finance officer, a hunter safety instructor and Boy Scout firearms instructor. Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend, Billy, was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and camping, and shared that love with countless others. He was a proud veteran who was happiest when helping others and spending time with his family. He is greatly loved and will be dearly missed throughout our community.Billy is preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters Ruby Luceil Radford and Shirley Mae Jurishich.He is survived by his wife, Vickie; son Billy Glen Price Jr.; daughters Regana Ann Allen, Kimberly Kay, Hope Elizabeth Stewart and Angela Black-Orris; sisters Dorothy Lela Reed, Rusty Maudlene Harrison and Georgie Louise Webb (all of St. Louis); nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and many beloved nieces, nephews and foster children. Cremation has taken place, and his remains will be scattered as he requested. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007, at the Farnum-Holt Chapel, in Glenwood Springs. The family asks that memorials be sent to the VA Nursing Home in Rifle or the Citizens Advisory Board.
