Birthday girl, 94, honored by attention

Dear Editor,

I wish to thank the Post Independent and the Valley Journal for publishing my interview and the pictures. I thought it quite an honor to appear on the front page of your newspaper.

Also, my thanks to Lynn Burton and Kelley Cox.

I was amazed at the number of birthday cards and phone calls I received. Several were from out of state. I’m sure they read your paper.

I thank all my friends and family for the lovely gifts and cards. The employees at the Primavera Cafe were great because there were so many of us. We had two birthdays to celebrate: my great-grandson Christopher Darien Baird and myself.

My thanks to all and may God bless you.

Sincerely,

Margaret Darien

Editor’s note: Margaret Darien turned 94 on July 24.
