Body identified as that of DeBeque man

Staff Report

The body of a man found southwest of Parachute Saturday has been identified as Jason Trout, 22, of DeBeque, said Garfield County sheriff’s department spokesperson Ron VanMeter.

Autopsy results are not yet available. VanMeter said foul play has been ruled out as a cause of death.

Trout was reported missing on May 30. His body was found at the edge of the waterline on the Colorado River, approximately 20 feet below the rim of a ledge. He was found by two people who were floating the river near the Una Bridge.
