Bomb threat evacuates mall

Post Independent Writer

Staff Report

The Glenwood Springs Mall was evacuated Friday afternoon after the mall received a telephoned bomb threat.

Glenwood Springs Police Chief Terry Wilson said the anonymous call came in at about 1 p.m.

After the mall was evacuated, police officers searched the mall with employees who are familiar with various parts of the building, Wilson said. Nothing suspicious was found.

Mall managers decided to keep everyone out of the building for an additional hour after the search was completed.

“They just thought that was a reasonable precaution to take,” Wilson said.
