Bomb threat locks down Rifle High School

RIFLE ” Rifle High School is on lock down this afternoon after a reported bomb threat.

The school received a call around 12:45 p.m. of a bomb in the building, no information on who made the call was not available. Emergency services were notified immediately and Rifle Police secured the perimeter of the school a short while later, while students were sheltered “in place” according to Garfield School District Re-2 director of districtwide services, Theresa Hamilton.

Emergency services are currently sweeping the building for any evidence of a bomb or threatening device. More information will be available as it becomes known.
