ASPEN ” Several bomb threats at banks in Aspen have forced evacuations affecting an unknown number of people.

Police spokeswoman Stephanie Dasaro Wednesday said police were investigating a credible threat at several banks in the downtown area and ordered the evacuations.

Wells Fargo, Vectra Bank and at least one other bank were apparently targeted in the threats. Downtown businesses, including The Aspen Times, are receiving reverse 911 calls directing occupants to evacuate the buildings.

Additional details were not immediately available.
