Boneheaded error?

Dear Editor,

Re: the March 8-9 article “Unique Osteoporosis Test Offered by the Grand River Hospital District.”

Contrary to both the headline and text of the article, Grand River Hospital District is not the only medical facility on the Western Slope to own a Prodigy densitometry machine. Glenwood Medical Associates purchased a Prodigy machine in August 2000, and has provided low radiation, dual-femur diagnostics to hundreds of patients in the area since then.

In addition, unlike the staff manning Grand River Hospital District’s machine, Glenwood Medical Associates’ radiology and physician staff are certified by the International Society of Clinical Densitometrists, the only recognized professional densitometry association in the U.S.

Thank you for the opportunity to clarify these inaccuracies.
