Brewpub introduces barrel room

Glenwood Canyon Brewpub has attracted craft beer fans for more than 20 years. Now, it’s got one more reason for them to stop by. The downtown brewpub recently completed its barrel room, a basement-level, intimate space for smaller gatherings and special events.
“This room was such a dead space for so long and now it’s cool,” said General Manager Corrie Murray. “It’s my favorite space in the whole restaurant.”
The room is lined with beers aging in barrels. Several tables sit in the middle of the space, and a pair of televisions will make it a cozy place to watch Denver Broncos games come fall.
Director of Brewing Operations Todd Malloy said he anticipates beer dinners, barrel releases and private events in the space. The brewpub could have spent less money for an adequate barrel-aging space, but he is enthusiastic about the decision to make it a customer-friendly area.
“Let’s spend some money and make this an area for customers to get involved,” he said.
Keep an eye on the brewpub’s Facebook page at facebook.com/GCbrewpub and glenwoodcanyon.com for information about special events and rentals.
