Bruce Albert Saueressig
Bruce Albert Saueressig of Rifle died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, in Rifle. He was 49.
He was born May 2, 1953, in Glenwood Springs to Irene and Kenneth Saueressig. He attended school in New Castle and graduated from Rifle High School in 1972.
He worked at various construction jobs until his health prevented it.
He had a great love of life and the outdoors, and assisted his friends Reed and Andy with their guiding business.
Mr. Saueressig was an active member of Alcoholics Anonymous and helped many others in the 12-Step program.
He was a member of Rifle Moose Lodge No. 1345 for the past 10 years, serving as governor in 1995, 1996 and 1998. He helped keep the Rifle lodge going and in moving to its new location.
He was preceded in death by his parents; by a sister, Regina Klotz; and by a son, Bryan Saueressig.
Mr. Saueressig is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Eddy and Linda Saueressig of Silt; by a sister and brother-in-law, Iris and Chuck Boring of Anchorage, Alaska; and by nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. today, Jan. 16, at Rifle Moose Lodge No. 1345, 133 E. 3rd St., in Rifle.
Rifle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
