Bush will ruin the country with war on Iraq

Dear Editor,

The blueprint for U.S. global domination President-select Bush and crew are pursuing has surfaced. It was developed under Daddy Bush by Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Pearle – all chickenhawks who dodged the Vietnam draft.

Their project for the New American Century states, “The need for a substantial American force presence in the gulf transcends the issue of the regime of Saddam Hussein.”

All the falsehoods, weasel words, and ignored history regarding U.S.-Iraq relations peddled by Bush and crew are just window dressing for their real agenda.

In two years, President-neglect Bush has transformed a projected 10-year federal surplus of $5.6 trillion into a deficit of $1.8 trillion, not including the hundreds of billions the Iraq war and aftermath will ultimately cost.

Unemployment rises, 40 million have no health insurance, stock markets tank, corporate thieves and bankruptcies multiply, homelessness increases, Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are under serious threat as military spending consumes everything else.

Now add the second Bush trillion dollar tax cut for the richest 5 percent and an incessant attack on and giveaway of the environment to his corporate buddies.

Bush and crew are destroying democracy with their assault on civil liberties via Patriot I and II and Homeland Security Acts. A militarized feudal society looms with 5 percent living as lords in castles while the general population lives in increasing social and environmental devastation and squalor, and the nation’s wealth and energies are squandered in endless weaponry and warfare. Welcome to the Project for the New American Century!
