Dr. Ferdinand Liotta is utilizing new technology to provide improved orthopedic shoulder care for patients who suffer from arthritis at Orthopaedic Associates of Aspen and Glenwood. Dr. Liotta uses a new HemiCAP implant that allows replacement of only the diseased part of the joint and not the entire shoulder. Dr. Liotta was the first surgeon in Colorado to utilize this technology for the shoulder.Performed as an outpatient procedure, partial replacement surgery using the HemiCAP implant is less invasive than total joint replacement because it causes less bone loss and less trauma. For more information about Dr. Liotta or to schedule an appointment with him, call the practice’s Glenwood Springs office at 945-8683.
