The board of directors of Western Rockies Federal Credit Union announced the selection of Gay L. Hetland as the new president and chief executive officer of the credit union. She assumed her new duties July 1. Mrs. Hetland is a Grand Valley native with 19 years in the financial services industry.

The Glenwood Springs Blake Avenue Center of Colorado Mountain College announces a private-pilot ground-school course, from 5:30-9:20 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, starting Aug. 30. This course prepares the student to take the FAA written exam, a requirement to becoming a private pilot. Sign up by August 26 at any CMC campus or online.
