The Fleisher Co. recently completed the sale of a $730,000 parcel of vacant land located on Village Road at Buggy Circle just east of Highway 133 in Carbondale. The property was acquired by a group of local investors who also purchased Buggy Works auto services property, and are considering several plans for substantial development of the properties.

The Carbondale Chamber of Commerce took first place in two of the highest categories awarded by the Colorado Association of Commerce and Industry: percentage increase in dues revenue and percentage increase in membership numbers. Heather Smith accepted the award in front of more than 50 other chambers at the Colorado Chamber of Commerce Executives Conference in Pagosa Springs on April 5.

In 2006, the Carbondale Chamber’s dues revenue increased more than 34 percent and membership was up 102 members, an increase of more than 25 percent.

Otak Inc. has announced the promotion of Kate Schwarzler, ASLA, to office manager, effective April 1. Schwarzler is a landscape architect and associate of the firm.

Schwarzler relocated to Carbondale from Otak’s home office in Lake Oswego, Ore., and has 10 years experience in master planning, environmental assessments, recreation planning and design, interpretive design, streetscape design, and site development projects. She also has extensive experience in community process and facilitation. She holds a bachelor of landscape architecture from the University of Oregon.
