Peter S. Tibbetts has completed the requirements to be named an ASQ-certified six sigma black belt (ASQ CSSBB) from the certification board of the American Society for Quality. Tibbetts has reached a significant level of professional recognition, indicating a proficiency in and a comprehension of six sigma principles and practices. Individuals who earn this certification are allowed to use ASQ CSSBB on their business cards and professional correspondence.
A certified six sigma black belt is a professional who applies six sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools in a variety of business situations. A black belt demonstrates team leadership and manages team dynamics in all aspects of the DMAIC model (define, measure, analyze, improve, control) and can maintain six sigma principles. Black belts understand lean enterprise concepts and can identify non-value-added activities using specific tools.

Tina Raichle and Aly Rochman of Paradise Day Spa recently attended Wella Color Correction classes in Denver. Color techniques to take summer hair to fall and winter trends for 2007-08 were covered. Wright Water Engineers and Waste Engineering of Glenwood Springs has hired Kathalyn Taylor to perform wetlands and environmental work. Taylor’s experience includes wetland delineation and permitting, native landscape design, and monitoring of wetland mitigation projects.
Taylor will work in Wright Water Engineers’ and Waste Engineering’s Glenwood Springs and Denver offices. The Glenwood office is located at 818 Colorado Ave., and the local telephone number is 945-7755.
David Johnson, owner of ReMIX Media Group LLC, has been named winner of three MarCom Awards in 2007, for excellence in marketing and communication.
The MarCom Awards are administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. More than 5,000 marketing professionals in the U.S. and several foreign countries took part in the competition.
ReMIX Media Group LLC won the Platinum Award for its advertising campaign for the local stage presentation of “Always … Patsy Cline.”
