It’s a new year, and for Glenwood Hot Springs’ guests that means 107 posh new rooms. The multimillion-dollar renovation project that encompassed every guest room at the Glenwood Hot Springs Lodge is complete. In 2012, Lodge guests can relax in newly remodeled rooms that reflect the tranquil ambiance of the award-winning Spa of the Rockies and offer technology upgrades that add modern convenience to the surrounding comfort, all within steps of the world-famous Glenwood Hot Springs Pool.
This workshop, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, is designed to help the small business owner understand the basic payroll process and forms, including how to avoid common pitfalls by paying payroll liabilities in a timely manner. This informative presentation will also help you simplify some otherwise confusing tax issues such as tracking and paying business taxes. You will also find out which business activities are subject to sales and/or use tax and which government entities require sales tax collection. Effective Feb. 1, the Carbondale Chamber of Commerce offices are located in the Third Street Center, Suite 3, 520 S. Third St. in Carbondale. The phone number is still the same: 970-963-1890. Acting Executive Director Andrea Stewart is excited by this move from Cowen Drive because the new intimate office space better suits the Chamber’s needs. The Third Street Center is also becoming the hub of business and social activity in Carbondale, so there is much opportunity to reach and greet both visitors and local businesses as the Chamber marches into 2012. Lisa Jones, showroom manager at Dahl Decorative Kitchen & Bath in Glenwood Springs, recently won the Grand Prize in the Mr. Steam Passport to Bora Bora Rewards Program for 2011. Lisa, a five-year veteran of the company, will enjoy a four-night vacation for two to Bora Bora, including round-trip airfare and a guided tour. When notified by Martha Orellana, vice president of sales and marketing for Mr. Steam in the Western half of the United States, that she had won the grand prize, Jones was beyond thrilled, as Bora Bora has been on her bucket list for years. “I’ve always wanted to go there for as long as I can remember. The beauty is what attracts me,” she said.After moving to Colorado from the East, Jones noticed a big difference in the demand for steam. “Steam goes into just about every house we do,” she reported. “There is a very active, outdoorsy community here with a very dry climate. So steam is a way of life. People love the spa effect.”
