Glenwood Hot Springs has hired Megan Swanton as the new spa director for its award-winning Spa of the Rockies. With a Doctor of Chiropractic degree and a background in spa management, Swanton brings with her an extensive education and experience in the healing arts. The former Aspen resident has also managed spas in French Polynesia and in Miami, and she owned and operated her own wellness business in Australia.”I’ve worked at and visited high-end spas around the world, and I can tell you the Spa of the Rockies is a top spa on an international scale. Born and raised in Lee’s Summit Missouri, Lori moved to Glenwood Springs with her family in 1997, and has been in the collision industry for more than 10 years starting in 1999. With the addition of Dr. Aaron Langley, Glenwood Veterinary Clinic has now expanded its full-time veterinary staff to a total of six doctors. He joined the practice in early June, and has spent the past six weeks becoming familiar with the area and meeting clients. Langley’s practice will include both equine and small animal patients, and he is available for appointments starting immediately. Langley will spend about 75 percent of his time seeing equine patients as part of the clinic’s 3-truck ambulatory service, but he will see small animal patients either in the field or at the clinic on Wednesdays. Langley has a special interest in alternative medicine as a complement to traditional medicine, and is also highly experienced in the areas of equine podiatry and equine dentistry. Healthy Horse Boutique grand openingHealthy Horse Boutique, a health food store for horses, will host a grand opening of its new riding arena and boarding facility at 489 Rose Lane in Carbondale (near the rodeo grounds) on Saturday, Aug. 25. The facility has been thoughtfully designed as a caring and nurturing environment that offers “peace of mind” for both owners and their horses and will be accepting new boarders in September.The free event is a benefit for the valley’s Pony Club (donations accepted) with Healthy Horse Boutique and all participating vendors contributing a portion of all proceeds to the club.
