Glenwood Springs Chamber news

New Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association member Bear-Foot Snowshoes is located at 526 Pine St., on the east side of the Hotel Colorado. Owned by Jeff Neer, it is a one-stop shop for snowshoe and cross-country ski rentals, snow tubes, Stableicers and poles, combo rentals, souvenirs, winter wear and trail maps.

Blue Sky Ski Rental, a Glenwood Springs chamber member since 1989, recently moved to its new location at 319 West 6th St. Owned by Jerry Butler, it is a full-service ski and snowboarding equipment rental and service shop offering equipment and clothing rental and sales. Its rentals include such brands as Völkl, Salomon, Dynastar and Elan. It also offers free night storage. Information: 945-1552.

Pat and Calvin Roberts, owners of the Watersweeper and the Dwarf, recently purchased Teddy’s Corner, which is located at 812 Grand Ave. The store has delivered teddy bears to people of all ages.

The Roberts sell Boyds Bears and Steiff Bears, Patsy’s homemade chocolate products, gift items and dolls. They also carry figurines, jewelry, teddy bear sized furniture, bear wear, pillows, afghans and wall hangings. Information: 945-1087.

Glenwood Paint, Inc., a new Glenwood Springs chamber member, is located at 309 19th St. It is a retail paint store offering contractor discounts and carrying top brands such as Kwal and Benjamin Moore Paints. It also has numerous stain lines, including Cabot and Minwax, and faux finishing supplies. Valley Liquors recently joined the Glenwood Springs chamber. It has built a new store at 7094 Highway 82, near the CMC turnoff. It is a retail liquor store selling many brands of wine, beer and spirits. It is open from 9:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Information: 945-7944.

Homebuyers merges

with Colorado West Mortgage

Homebuyers Mortgage of Carbondale has merged with Colorado West Mortgage Group of Glenwood Springs. The newly merged company will operate as Homebuyers Mortgage. “We are very excited about the merge with Colorado West Mortgage,” says David Richards, owner of Homebuyers Mortgage.

“The merger with Homebuyers makes the new company one of the most experienced and well-qualified companies from Aspen to Parachute,” says Adrienne Rowberry, owner of Colorado West Mortgage Group. Homebuyers Mortgage now has locations in Carbondale at 0326 Highway 133, Suite 130, and at 1317 Grand Ave., Suite 216, in Glenwood Springs. Homebuyers Mortgage serves the Roaring Fork and Colorado River Valleys.

Springs Travel changes

Karri Gromowski-Bosse has rejoined Springs Travel Service, becoming its new travel consultant, joining Laurie Sweeney and Jacque McMillan. Gromowski-Bosse previously worked at Springs Travel. Missy Sickels, after five years in the office, has moved her office to her home and can be reached at 984-3331. Springs Travel is located at the corner of 8th and Cooper; information: 945-9186.

New Paradise Spa staff

Paradise Spa has added two staff members.

Dominique Needham specializes in all aspects of hair design and is a master stylist with more than 17 years experience in this market.

Courtney Arbaney specializes in most spa services, including, hair, manicures, pedicures and skin care. She has been a part of this community her whole life and is looking forward to taking care of her new Paradise clientele.
