Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park has kicked off its spring hours. The Adventure Park will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The last tram ride up the mountain will be one hour prior to closing.

The best value for enjoying the Adventure Park right now is with the Winter Fun Pass, which is available through April 30. The Winter Fun Pass includes a tram ride and park admission, a 70-minute guided Walking Tour of Glenwood Caverns and Historic Fairy Caves and unlimited access to the 4D Ride Theater, Alpine Coaster and Laser Tag Arena for just $29 per person.

The nomination deadline has been extended to Friday, March 19, for several awards honoring local businesses and individuals. Award categories include: DECA Entrepreneur of the Year, Bosco Tourism Business of the Year, Green Business of the Year, Philanthropic Business of the Year (small and large business categories) and Top Brass Awards. Award winners will be presented on Thursday, April 22, at the Aspen Glen Club.

The Chamber Ambassador Committee will select the Top Brass Awards based on personal or professional achievement, business expansion or milestones of the past year. The accomplishments must have taken place between January and December 2009 to qualify. Top Brass nominations are due April 2.

This year’s gala marks the 17th year for the annual ATHENA award that honors an exceptional local woman or man who demonstrates excellence, creativity and initiative in assisting women in reaching their full leadership potential. Last year’s ATHENA recipient was Alexandra Yajko.

The ATHENA Young Professional Award will be presented again this year as well.
