How did your business start?
Kyle Zajac and Julie Ireland share a passion for CrossFit and living a healthy lifestyle. They started their business in order to share that passion with others in their community.
What do you sell?
CrossFit is more than just your typical gym membership. Our members receive professional training, diet and health recommendations, and a community of great people to workout and socialize with. We offer a judgment-free environment where anyone at any ability level is able to come in and improve their overall health and well-being.
Why do you like what you do?
Our passion is to help people, in any way that we can. CrossFit gives us the platform to help people on a daily basis. We love hearing success stories from our members of how their clothes are fitting better or their jobs are so much easier now because they have become stronger. You can see the transformation before your eyes of people with low self-esteem or extreme shyness come out of their shells and become confident and strong.
What strategy do you use to hire good people?
For the time being Kyle and Julie are the owners and employees. As we grow, we hope to mentor a couple of people into CrossFit trainers.
What is your strategy for growth in the next year?
Our main focus is our members; we want to do everything that we can to make sure that they are getting more than their money’s worth with their memberships. We hope to build a strong community-focused CrossFit, where the main focus is to achieve a healthy community while doing everything we can to teach proper form and technique in order to prevent injuries.
What is the best thing about running a business here?
We love Glenwood Springs! All of the local businesses are so friendly and support one another. We have had a lot of positive encouragement from other local business owners. Our boys have gone to school here for the past two years, and they have made so many friends. We really look forward to raising our family here and growing our business within such an awesome community.
