How did your business start?
I developed a passion for this industry while working with residents who had been devastated by the Boulder floods last year. It was very rewarding to help people get back into their homes and help build back their communities. From this experience, I decided to open Eccopros Disaster Restoration LLC as a way to continue to help people in my local community who might experience similar unfortunate events.
What do you sell?
We provide several services, including post-flood and fire remediation, asbestos testing and consultations as well as carpet cleaning. As additional service we offer an alternative to bed bug mitigation through heat treatment, not chemicals. Glamorous, I know.
Why do you like what you do?
I moved from Steamboat Springs to the valley in 2000, bringing my tile installation contracting company. When our construction economy grinded to a halt, it gave me the opportunity to work in Boulder after the floods. I had never done work where people were so grateful and appreciative of the effort we put in before then. Nothing like the smile and gratitude of a homeowner to make your day.
What strategy do you use to hire
I will quote a man I worked with who said it best, “Good jobs for good people! We can teach the trade, but a person’s integrity is what I look for.” We work with people as they are going through some tough days, and it takes a special kind of person to do this work in a caring and compassionate way. Ask anyone who has done disaster restoration.
What is your strategy for growth in
the next year?
We are sticking with the basics. We are contacting all of the people we have met and worked with here in the valley for the last 14 years. We are letting them know that our company is available to provide disaster restoration services that are professional, locally owned and customer service oriented. Our goal is to provide superior, value oriented service to our clients with a unique understanding of the difficult times these kinds of events can cause. We will keep homes healthy and safe.
What is the best thing about running a
This valley is my home. Like most people, I am here because of the lifestyle that it provides for me and my family. Also enjoy the unique challenges that our valley presents.
