Former White House economist to speak in Glenwood Springs

J.D. Foster, Ph.D., deputy chief economist for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and former White House economist under President George W. Bush, will keynote the 2014 Glenwood Springs Chamber Annual Economic Forum: “(When) Will the Economy Take off?”

Foster will present his thoughts about where the economy is, how we got here and where the economy is headed in 2014 and beyond. The event is sponsored by the Bank of Colorado and hosted by the Hotel Denver.

He will be joined by Colorado State Demographer Elizabeth Garner, Garfield County Manager Andrew Gorgey and Glenwood Springs City Manager Jeff Hecksel. Each will present their review of 2013 and forecast for 2014.



J.D. Foster has spent more than 27 years in Washington working on economic public policy issues for the U.S. House, U.S. Senate and the Treasury Department. He has served as associate director for economic policy in the White House’s office of management and budget and is an expert on tax theory and tax policy, entitlement reform, international finance and domestic macroeconomics.
