How did your business start?
I’ve been involved in the aviation industry as a private pilot for several years and have watched this incredible technology evolve at a rapid pace. After realizing a fast-growing need in the area for professional high quality results, Hawk Aerial Solutions was launched.
What do you sell?
We cover a variety of industries including aerial photography, real estate property tours, high resolution aerial inspections, film productions, outdoor weddings, commercials, architecture photography, aerial mapping, agriculture inspections, land surveys, etc. We produce and edit videos and photos in house, as well as work with other companies in their productions. We have a live HD video stream from our unmanned helicopters to clients on the ground with a 24- or 40-inch display, and offer 4K ultra high definition video and high resolution images.
Why do you like what you do?
I love doing this because I get to combine cutting edge technology in my favorite passions of aviation, photography and video production to create from rarely, or never seen before, angles of our beautiful state. It’s incredibly gratifying to see people’s faces light up the first time they see us take flight, and then experience a whole new perspective on the world around them.
What strategy do you use to hire good people?
Our crew has been with us since the beginning, so we haven’t hired anyone since the launch, but we anticipate a bright future.
What is your strategy for growth in the next year?
Our strategy for growth in the next year is to become known as the leader in providing the highest quality UAS (unmanned aerial systems) aerial solutions and customer service in the Rocky Mountain Region. We plan on acquiring more equipment and expanding into new markets over the coming months. We are also excited about future applications this technology will bring and look forward to being a part of it.
What is the best thing about running a business here?
My favorite part about running a business in this area is the incredible scenery I get to work with, and the people I get to do it with. We have a unique and special valley that’s incredibly rare, and there’s the powder days, of course!
