How did your business start?
While managing my own vacation rental in Glenwood Springs for the past two years, I realized that there is a real need for management services because of the many aspects that were involved in creating a successful short term rental. I embarked on this new career with the goal to alleviate the hassle and time commitment of the homeowner’s “second job” and successfully link together these elements, while creating a positive experience for travelers and a lucrative one for homeowners.
What do you sell?
KEYLINK offers three types of service for short term rentals: full service, booking or home management.
With full service management we create your professional listing, market your property, manage bookings and guest communications, schedule cleaning, laundry service and provide guest support seven days a week for a commission of 18 percent.
Booking or home management are options for people that prefer to be involved but don’t have the time to do it all. With booking management we create your professional listing, market your property and manage all bookings and guest communications for a 10 percent commission. With home management we provide on-the-ground services including cleaning, laundry service and 24-hour guest assistance for a monthly fee.
Why do you like what you do?
I founded this company based on my own love of travel, exploring new places and experiencing “homes away from home.” With the growth of the vacation rental industry, and my experience in property and business management, I enjoy helping people transform their home into a successful and desirable vacation rental.
What strategy do you use to hire good people?
We seek enthusiastic, energetic, highly organized people that are willing to go the extra mile to offer the very best in customer service to both the homeowner and guest.
What is your strategy for growth in the next year?
KEYLINK offers exceptional services at a lower cost than traditional property management companies and there are no upfront costs or sign up fees. We offer free home evaluations to determine if a home is a good fit for a short term rental and provide income projections. We realize that each property is unique and it is essential to customize our services based on the home’s features, rather than taking a “cookie cutter” approach. We also recognize and respect the importance of flexibility and will continue to adapt to the changing demands of the vacation rental market.
What is the best thing about running a business here?
My family and I have lived in Glenwood Springs for over 20 years and I feel so grateful to be a part of such a great community. It is such a nice place to live and work and, as we know, our town has become a top vacation destination. I enjoy operating a business that brings visitors to our beautiful valley to experience everything our area has to offer.
